While we await the launch of Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S8 range of premium tablets we have news about its more affordable Galaxy Tab A8 series consisting of leaked specs and renders. How affordable, I hear you ask? Well, it seems that the 10.5-inch Galaxy Tab A8 could retail for well under €300 (~$340) in Europe.
Thanks to the sterling work by WinFuture, we have leaked marketing renders of the unannounced Galaxy Tab A8 to gawk at (above) as well as specs and pricing details.
Samsung isn’t reinventing the wheel when it comes to the design of the Galaxy Tab A8 which looks pretty similar to its predecessor, the Galaxy Tab A7 series. Internally is a different story, with the Galaxy Tab A8 apparently being powered by a UniSoc Tiger T618 processor and accompanied by 3/4GB of RAM and 32/64/128GB of expandable storage (MicroSD support). A 7,040mAh battery keeps the lights, with the device believed to be available in Wi-Fi and LTE variants, as is pretty much standard for Samsung-produced tablets.
The 10.5-inch LCD display is said to offer FHD+ resolution with a 16:10 aspect ratio and 60Hz refresh rate. Face unlock, fingerprint reader, and Dolby Atmos support are also said to be present. There’s an 8MP rear camera sans flash and a 5MP fixed-focus sensor on the front of the device which is housed in the top bezel (when held in landscape mode).
The Galaxy Tab A8 will reportedly come in gray, pink, and silver color schemes, and in Germany at least, go on sale starting from €230 during January 2022.
