According to reports, Samsung has started mass producing the Galaxy S22 series. Theoretically, this puts the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus and Galaxy S22 Ultra on track for a January or February 2022 release.
Samsung has not announced when it will host its next Galaxy Unpacked event, having scheduled several this year for smartwatches, smartphones and even laptops. However, leakers like Jon Prosser assert that Samsung will start selling the Galaxy S22 series by early February, with the Galaxy S21 FE arriving a month earlier.
Quandt believes that the timing of mass production reinforces this release window; typically, Samsung takes two or three months to launch a smartphone from when it starts mass-producing parts. Currently, the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus are believed to resemble their predecessors. By contrast, the Galaxy S22 Ultra could combine the Galaxy S21 Ultra and the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, as leaked renders have shown.
