Tech is often seen as the best industry in the world if you want to end up being in the middle of the action along with making it so that you can end up earning a lot of money, but with all of that having been said and now out of the way it is important to note that you can’t judge the whole job market based on the highest performing individuals and their experiences.
It turns out that the tech industry has a really serious problem with burnout with all things having been considered and taken into account. In fact, 72% of tech workers who were included in a TalentLMS survey stated that they felt like changing jobs, and if that is an indication of the state of the industry then it might just result in a shortage in tech talent.
While a lot of tech jobs pay relatively well, they are also incredibly demanding from a work perspective. Another thing to note is a lack of upward mobility because of the fact that this is the sort of thing that could potentially end up leaving you stuck at a role that’s not particularly high up the management chain, and it will reduce the likelihood of income boosting prospects as well by a rather large margin.
90% of respondents feel like they are not getting enough learning opportunities either, and all of this seems to point to tech becoming a really troublesome field to find employees for. That said, there is a decent chance that the market will modulate supply and demand as it usually does, and if that happens then tech workers might start earning more, working less or at the very least receiving the right kind of appreciation for the work that they are currently involved in.
