SAVE 47%: If you’re looking for a pair of wireless earbuds, AirPods aren’t your only option. Check out Samsung’s noise-canceling Galaxy Buds Live, which are on sale at Amazon as of Jan. 20. You’ll pay $89.99 instead of the original price of $169.99.
Wireless earbuds give you the freedom to move around, play music from a distance, and, if you have an iPhone, listen to audio while charging your phone at the same time. Noise cancellation is another feature that’s common these days — besides the obvious AirPods, brands like Bose, JBL, and Sony have jumped on the bandwagon.
Samsung is no exception. Its contribution to the market, the Samsung Galaxy Buds, come in four iterations: the Galaxy Buds Plus, Galaxy Buds Pro, Galaxy Buds Live, and the Galaxy Buds 2. They all offer solid sound quality and varying degrees of ambient noise or noise cancellation, but the bean-shaped Galaxy Buds Live are arguably the best all-around option.
Samsung Galaxy Buds Live review: These beans pack a punch
Unlike the Buds Pro or the Buds 2, the Buds Live have app support on iOS — something not critical to their function (all Galaxy Buds can pair with iPhones through Bluetooth), but that’s nice to have nonetheless. Their active noise cancellation will block out background noise — or you can opt to let in live sounds like conversations or transport announcements. The earbuds also sit closer to the outer edge of your ear, rather than blocking the canal entirely.
Battery life is decent — up to eight hours of playback with ANC off — but a fully charged case will give you 29 hours total.
With four different colors to choose from (including a lovely metallic rose gold), the Samsung Galaxy Buds Live are worth considering even at their normal price point. At 47% off, they’re a steal.
